BSA Limited announced on 1 August 2011, that it has completed the acquisition of Burke Air Pty Limited, one of Western Australia's leading HVAC service and maintenance providers for $9.2million, made up of $8.9m cash and $0.3m of BSA shares. The acquisition will be funded by existing cash facilities and is expected to be earnings accretive in its first year.

Burke Air's head office is in Perth, with regional offices in Busselton, Karratha and Port Hedland. The company's core activity is the service and maintenance of air-conditioning installations. With revenues of over $27million and EBITDA %/revenue above BSA's historical performance, it has approximately 700 customers and employs approximately 100 staff. The company was established in 1978. Burke Air's key customers include major mining companies, national developers and constructors and owners of shopping centres.
The Chairman of BSA Limited, Ross Johnston, said "The acquisition of Burke Air is a timely addition to the BSA Group, substantially expanding our footprint in Western Australia, and will complement our growing presence in the HVAC design and construction market in Western Australia. These two businesses complete our service offering in this market."
BSA's Managing Director, Steve Nash, said "Burke Air brings us closer to the rapidly growing north-west resources sector through its offices in Karratha and Port Hedland, which service the major resources companies in the region as well as other customers in those towns. Burke Air is an accredited supplier of HVAC goods and services to some of the region's largest mining companies. BSA already has some exposure to the resources sector through its businesses in Queensland and the Northern Territory. We expect to leverage our connections to the resources sector in the future".
Burke Air is BSA's second acquisition in 2011 following BSA's acquisition of MEC Services Darwin business in January. MEC Services has finished the year ahead of forecast and in a good position for continued growth in FY12.
